Strategy, design, and engineering together
We keep the three disciplines in the same conversation from the start. Most expensive rework traces back to a decision made before anyone had all three perspectives in the room.
ScryptFyre is a software consultancy. We help organizations make better technical decisions, build the software those decisions call for, and keep it working well after launch. Plenty of teams can produce a plan. We are built to carry it through.
We work across the technical and product work most organizations need to launch, modernize, and improve digital systems: applied AI, software engineering, web and mobile development, digital strategy, user experience, data and analytics, and the internal tools teams rely on day to day.
That range matters less than how it is used. Most of our engagements start with a specific problem, not a shopping list, and the useful answer is usually narrower than a full capability deck. See the full list of services.

Jamie Smith
Founder and Software Engineer
I've spent 15 years building software, and I started ScryptFyre in 2024 to do that work directly with the teams who need it.
ScryptFyre is deliberately small. The person who scopes your project, makes the architectural calls, and writes the code is the same person you talk to. There is no account layer between the conversation and the work, and no handoff to a different team once the proposal is signed.
That shapes what we take on. I would rather run a small number of engagements properly than a large number at arm's length. If a project needs more capacity than I can give it, I will say so early rather than stretch and hope.
Four things shape most of what we do, and they are the fastest way to tell whether we are a good fit for your team.
We keep the three disciplines in the same conversation from the start. Most expensive rework traces back to a decision made before anyone had all three perspectives in the room.
Some engagements need a single experienced voice on a hard decision. Others need sustained delivery over many months. We size the engagement to the problem instead of selling one model to everyone.
Software gets judged on how it behaves months after launch. We plan for maintenance, performance work, and steady improvement rather than treating launch as the handoff.
Running our own apps keeps us honest about the tradeoffs we recommend. We make the same calls our clients make, and we live with the consequences.
Our work spans large enterprises, public institutions, game studios, and venture-backed startups. The common thread is not company size. It is teams that need thoughtful execution and clear communication more than they need another opinion.
We tend to be a good fit in four situations.
Where we help most
Most work falls into one of three shapes. Many clients move through more than one.
Clarify direction, shape scope, and make the early decisions that are expensive to reverse later. Useful when the goal is clear but the path is not.
Ship new products, modernize existing systems, or add focused capacity to an internal team that already knows where it is going.
Ongoing maintenance, performance work, issue resolution, and steady product improvement once the software is in real use.
Alongside client work we design, ship, and support our own applications. It keeps us close to the decisions we advise on: what to cut, what to maintain, what a release actually costs, and how a product behaves once real people depend on it.
It is also the clearest evidence of how we work. See the products we build and support.
Tell us where you are headed and where you need support. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit for it.
